After their long Indian Ocean crossing, Jane and Sander aboard Satori have arrived in Africa!  Read their latest letter here , and view their new Indian Ocean and Africa additions to the photo album here (scroll to the bottom).

Congratulations to John Hoskins, and Sheldon Dummer for their fantastic finishes in the 2007 Singlehanded Mac!

John sailed Madcap up the Wisconsin side of the lake, going outside of the Manitous, and inside the Fox Islands, to take advantage of forecast wind shifts. The strategy paid off. John finished in 54:37:37 corrected, first in section by more than seven hours. His corrected time was also the best in the fleet for monohulls. This is the third time John has won the Singlehanded Mac!!  (2005 Fleet, 2006 section, 2007 section and fleet monohulls)

Shel, aboard Celerity, finished in 58:59:37 corrected for second in section, and 5th overall. Fantastic finish for his first Singlehanded Mac. Shel is going to do it again in less than two weeks - but this time with friends. Celerity, along with two other Anchorage boats - American Dream and Viper, is entered in the "normal" Chicago-Mac.
We've just received an update from Satori, with two letters and some great photos.  They are currently in Seychelles, for a brief stopover on their way across the Indian Ocean from Thailand to Madagascar.  For complete news, go to the new "Indian Ocean " section on the Satori page .  Click on the thumbnail photos at the bottom of each letter for the new photos.
