Good Luck Shel!!

Update: Shel was forced to retire due to a faulty through hull, and continuous dense fog.

Anchorage member Shel Dummer is doing the SOLO Super Mac and Back.  An incredible feat, and mind bogling to your webmaster!  From Shel:

Here is the link to track Celerity and me in the SOLO Super Mac and Back (Chicago-Port Huron-Chicago) which starts on June 21 and ends approximately 10 days later depending on wind.  http://www.solosailors.org/2014-tracking.php

Celerity and I will start from Chicago racing with 29 others in the 289 nautical mile SOLO Chicago to Mackinac Island race

and then continuing on without stopping with 2 others who will be joining me for the race down the length of Lake Huron to round a buoy at Port Huron and finally return all the way back to Chicago.  This longer race of 1034 nautical miles is called the Super Mac and Back

This will be a rules review focusing on the kinds of situations we often encounter in our fleets (boats with different performance characteristics, multiple starts, etc.). Seminar will use examples from the UK Rules Quiz to demonstrate how the rules work.

Skippers who attend should have a working knowledge of basic rules (port/starboard, windward/leeward, overtaking, etc.), and review the information in parts 1, 2, 3 at link below before the seminar.
